Love Jones Cafe was an incredible opportunity to be at my Alma mater CCSU, and host and help produce a show that means a lot to me personally and professionally. I graduated from CCSU in 2005. During my 5 years ar CCSU, I transformed from a young woman who sometimes doubted myself and my own desires, into someone who was fearless and courageous and wasn’t going to let anything stand in the way of my dream to finish college. During my junior year, and at 19 years old, I gave birth to my daughter, and became a young mom.
Through the community I built and fostered at CCSU and my determination to complete my undergraduate while being a young mom, I not only completed my Bachelor Degree in Social Work, I expanded and grew into a person who courageously acted on my desires to contribute, lead and make a difference. I continued my involvement with many campus organizations such as Ruthe Boye Women’s Center and under the guidance of the director and my mentor Ms Jackie Corbin’s-Boivin, I gained invaluable support that allowed me to complete my undergraduate degree and be fulfilled. Today, I am a woman who balances it all, as founder and CEO of No Starving Artist & The Epic Network, therapist and serial entrepreneur is forever grateful for my experience at CCSU that forever shaped me into who I am, and living my life in away where I know anything is possible.
